Reviews about Chabaar Beyond Thai
- 5 / 5By Michelle ShawThis has been my favorite place for years!!! Such flavors!!
The Pho is awesome. Every curry dish here is great. The Thai fried rice is fabulous. Everything is good!!! They even have the best chicken and waffles.December 17, 2016 - 5 / 5By Anindita RoyVery good food. One of the best Thai restaurants I have visited in Utah. Service was very good and helpful. Decor and ambiance was good. Food was well prepared and flavorful, arrived very fast and was moderately priced. However, they have a crazy spice level of 0 to 9 though they do not allow you to go beyond 3 the first time (they will write down your name if you finish level 3 food and let you order level 4 and up the next time you visit) and for good reason. We ordered a small tom yum soup (tofu) of level 2 and it was very spicy and pretty good quantity though it wasn't the best. I ordered drunken noodles (chicken) of level 2 and it was very spicy (and I am an Indian who eats and loves very spicy food) but extremely good. In fact, it was better and spicier than most other Thai places I have visited. Moreover, my boyfriend ordered cashew nut stir fry tofu of level 3 and it was extremely spicy (he usually eats extremely spicy and he loved the food). His food was too spicy for me and I was in tears and my stomach got upset after trying his food. So, beware, if you like mild food, order level 0. The server said the highest level she has seen someone try was 6 or 7. For dessert, we had sweet sticky rice which was good quantity and taste and I had a thai iced coffee which wasn't as good as other Thai places. I will definitely visit again.September 14, 2016
- 1 / 5By ElderbielerI'm legitimately so confused and don't know how to reconcile our experience here, vs. what seems like many of the reviews on this restaurant.
We went on a double date, with both couples being big fans of Thai food, and the overwhelming consensus was this one of the of worst Thai restaurants any of us have been to (and we're not food snobs).
We got some wonton and spring roll appetizers, both of which were skimpy and "cheap" tasting. We ordered and shared 4 different entrees all of which had seriously negligible amounts of protein (shrimp, chicken, etc.). I'm assuming to cut on costs.
The flavors lacked any real punch, and the meal was generally bland. Total came to over $100 (with no alcohol).
Wouldn't go back..August 28, 2016 - 5 / 5By Andy BallardNever fails. The best Thai place in town. Reliably tasty curries. Watch out for their heat scale. It goes from 1 - 10 and you need to sign a waiver to order a 10. They won't even serve you anything above a 3 unless you've been here before.July 22, 2016
